Movement as Medicine

It's Easter Sunday.  I'm in Ashland, Oregon, decompressing after an action-packed 12 day Dancing Freedom facilitator training on biodynamic Seven Seeds Farm in Williams, Oregon.

The last two weeks were life-changing for me.  I experienced a larger spectrum of emotions in 12 days that I have in months or years.  Through dance I realized so many things about myself... the emotions I store in my body, the way I interact with others, the reality that life is my prayer.  The last 12 days were about embodiment.  For  many years I have been seeking transcendence, trying to find a way of peace within and not focusing as much on the external world.  This Dancing Freedom practice changed my reality as it focused on our limits as human beings, and the importance of our emotions, our story, our resources, our bodies, our food, our community, our relationships...our land.

Camping and living on the land, using a compost toilet and eating farm fresh food daily made me reconsider a lot of the ways I have been living my life.  While I have always been conscious of not using wasting paper and turning of the lights, I haven't always given as much consideration to the energy depletion that comes simply from not connecting with the land daily.   I realized how much my body has missed the earth.  Walking barefoot on the dirt, smelling fresh grass and flowers, breathing in clean air, jumping into fresh cold water, making fires... I've been getting back to the basic elements and realizing how important they are in my life.  They ARE my life.

In dancing freedom we move through the elements, (earth, water, fire, air, and ether). Realizing that they are actually the building blocks of our bodies, they existed in a new way for  me over the last couple of weeks.  I found a new connection with the elements and deeper connection with humans.  Dance and deep open conversations in a safe environment allowed me to grow very close to the 14 other humans in the training.  I feel like in opening up to loving them more, I am beginning to love myself more.

I am humbly strengthened in my ego.  I am stepping into my power.  I am acknowledging my talents, my boundaries, and my insecurities so that I can share myself fully, so I can be of service to the universe in the best way possible.  As I grow and open, I know that the collective benefits.  As I share and step into my gifts, I inspire others to do the same.  As I share my experiences, I open space for others to share theirs.

I am looking forward to the second run of Resolve to Evolve Mastery 6 week online program for women, beginning next Monday, April 28th... I know that the group I am attracting will be an incredible group of women ready to invest in themselves, no matter how scary it is... so they can blossom and grow into their talents, power, gifts to share with the world, too.  If you are feeling called, please reach out to me, I want to help you make your dreams a reality.  I am here to empower you to BECOME the change you want to see in the world.  Let's do it together, with a supportive group massive change is possible in a short time... I can't wait to connect with you.
